Good day IHAD!
Last Tuesday, we had an AMAZING video here on our Scarborough Arts grounds. The team did so great and it was stunning to see everyone is action and putting their best foot forward. I hope that you are very proud of yourselves for this great accomplishment because I am. The staff at Scarborough Arts were thrilled to step out and see what you have trained so hard for.
The IHAD video should be ready for mid August. As soon as we receive it, we will make sure to post and share it with you. But the work does not end at the video shoot. We still havea variety of amazing genres lined up for you as well as the live performance.
We still have Larchaud Pair Dancing, Tutting, Stepping, Flamenco and Afro-Brazilian. Along the way, we will also be refining for the Subtext Arts Festival and will be learning how to get your foot out there as dancers in the real world.
If you are interested in continuing in the dance field, please have a look at this Toolkit. The brand new microsite — which you can visit at www.artreachtoronto.ca/toolkits — contains tons of resources, films and kits developed as part of the Grassroots Organizing and Leadership (GOAL) Youth Capacity Building Workshop Series that has been going strong since 2007. The workshops create a space for facilitators (many of whom are young people, or those that have been involved in grassroots organizing and project development) to share their insights and resources with youth groups, organizers and artists. At the new Toolkit site you will find info on a range of topics, from grant-writing to event planning, fundraising and financial management!

Don’t forget that this week and next week is a BREAK WEEK! Please do not attempt to attend any IHAD classes as there will not be one to attend. IHAD Stage 3 will commence of Monday July 18th at Birckdale Community Centre from 5-8PM. We are very excited to start new genres! See you there!
